TRIBUTE TO SERVICES
WORK OF SIR ERNEST DAVIS Appreciation of the valuable services given by Sir Ernest Davis as a member of the 'Auckland and Suburban Drainage Hoard for four terms totalling Jo J years, was expressed in a resolut ion adopted by the board at its meeting yesterday. The resolution stated that through, out the last six years of membership Sir Ernest was chairman, performing the onerous duties devolving upon hini concurrently with those <>l Mayor of Auckland. He devoted himself assiduous I v to the complex question of a policy for the future main drainage requirements of the metropolitan district and he had much cause for gratification in the ' ultimate adoption of the Motukorea .scheme of drainage for the southern portion of the district.
