SAVAGE MEMORIAL

FORMATION WORK BEGUN Operations were begun yesterday in preparing the site for the memorial to the late Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage at Fort Bastion, Orakei. It is expected that the formation work will be completed about, the cud of October by tho Public Works Department. In a statement in Wellington yesterday tho acting-Prime Minister, Mr. Nash, said that as soon as the preparatory task bad been completed the erection of the memorial would be commenced. He suggested that while the work was proceeding floral tributes should not bo placed at the tomb.
