Ao ... companying the donation was a letter from the club secretary, Mr. N< Gabrie, in which on behalf of the Yugoslav community in Wellington lie expressed appreciation of the great struggle by the British peoples for tha preservation of democracy and their support of the war effort. Another recent contribution received by the board was a cheque for £2lO ~ from the Chatham Islands Jockey Club, this representing the proceeds of a patriotic race meeting held earlier in the year. A letter accompanying tha cheque asked that £IOO be devoted to the Lord Mayor of London's Relief Fund and the balance to the National - Patriotic Fund.
