NAVAL HOSPITAL

BUILDING AT DEVONPORT Construction of the naval sick bay, which is on a commanding position at Devonport facing the harbour, has been practically finished except for the installation of a lift. It is expected that the building will bo occupied soon. No final decision has yet been made for providing a nurses' >home, but a suitable property in the vicinity may be used for this purpose The building is in the form of a letter H, and there are two storeys surmounted by a tower The surface has a warm tinted cement finish of a rough texture. A red cross cast in concrete stands over the front entrance, and over tho back entrance is the naval emblem of an anchor surmounted by a crown. Besides wards and other rooms for the sick there are quarters for the staff, administrative and other offices The grounds have not yet been laid out, but this will bo done in the winter.
