EMERGENCY PLANS

DIFFICULTY OF SCHOOLS (0.C.) CHRISTCHTTRCH, Sunday Complaining that school committees had been given no clear idea of what was expected of them under the Emergency Precautions Scheme, Mr. F. H. Pcphoff moved at the annual meeting of the Canterbury School Committees' Association that a deputation wait on the organisers of the scheme to clarify the position. The motion was passed alter a discussion, in which Mr. T. Xiittall strongly denied statements that the present emergency plans were chaotic. "1 feel that the position is that we committeemen do not know where we stand," said Mr. Dephoff. "Some 18 months ago we obtained information about facilities for evacuation, but I contend that that information is now obsolete. To a very Rreat extent that work has been nullified by delay."
