PRICE FOR LEMONS
SAME AS LAST SEASON BONUS PAYMENT TO BE MADE [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Wednesdn,v In an annoum inent to-day, the Minister of Marketing, the Hon. D. G. Barclay, states that the price to be paid to lemon growers for the new season would be on the same basis as during last season. This was 7s for sufficient fruit which, when cured, will pack a bushel case. "It will be recalled," added Mr. Barclay, "that last year a promise given to the industry that, if trading results for the marketing of lemons warranted it, a bonus payment would be made to producers. The result of last season's trading has now been analysed, and I am glad to be able to report that the Government will, in accordance with the promise made, pay to lemon growers a bonus of (id a cured bushel on last season's fruit.
"In the handling of the new season's fruit." added the Minister, "the Internal Marketing Division will follow the same procedure as before, and at the end of r, 11<• season consideration "ill be given to the payment of a similar bonus on the 1911 crop, if the financial position permits.''
