WOODEN FLOORS AT THEIR BEST
T7"FFPING wood floors in good condition is often a problem. A great deal, of course, depends on the wood and tlie treatment it lias received, For those who like a rather dull finish and have a varnish on the floor the following mixture will be found a reliable one for keeping it in order: .Mix together one gill each of raw linseed oil, turpentine, and vinegar. Shake well, and before applying have the floor well swept and dusted, then apply with the grain of the wood, using a woollen, cloth. Finish off with a clean, soft duster. This mixture is also ideal to use as a furniture polish. It helps to season the surface of tables and to prevent the appearance of heat marks. A SAFE way to store blanket? is to place pieces of yellow soap inside the folds, then wrap in newspapers. Moths 'will not attack them if they are stored in this way.
