STINKING FISH
i ,q; r _Onr local detractors of Britain. especiallv those among our so-called educated circles, make me really angry. Do you mind my making use of your columns in an endeavour to make them see straight? Confound the men—the women, too— This ever so superior crew— Which, catnip British bread, nro heard Denouncing, in their every word, SoiiH'thiii£ thiit's British! Oh, 1 wish Someone might fie the stinking fish Thev're always crying round their necks! A silly bird it is that pecks The mother bird, which daily feeds The ingrate, which has all its needs Supplied by (hat which is decried— In which no (rood can he descried. Britain litis slums and under-fed? And workless, and some poorly-bred? What of it? Does not Britain fry To cure such ills? One wonders why Our half-fledged "intellectuals," Our "brainy" ineffectuals, t Can't use the little sense that's theirs To see that Britain, which so cares For freedom, that she freely pours Her life-blood for it, from her doors Will drive, in time, all crippling things, Injustices, and all that brings Discredit on her goodly fame, And tarnishes her well-loved name. Let's make exchange! Give Hitler these And take those who have found no ease Beneath his rule, lo fill their place Without regard for blood or race. Of course, this can't be done. Wed he Quite flooded out. But what a joke 'twould he to let them feel the yoke Of Nazi rule, these carping fools, Wlui make our pulpits and our schools Hot-beds of treachery, disguised As honest comment! Be advised. Von dupe "Intelligentsia." And drop all 1 his. You really are Our local Quislings, traitors! Do See Her, who gives your life to you, More as she really is, and be In love with Her, who'd make all free. C.C.C.
