Tweed, assistantdirector of medical services, Central Military District, left for Palmerstoa North last night. Mr. Cyril Bavin, representative of the Children's Overseas Reception Board, arrived in Auckland yesterday. He is at the Station Hotel. Mr, J. R. MeClime, superintendent of the child welfare branch of the Department of Education, arrived in Auckland yesterday, and is at tha Station Hotel. Captain Percy Salmon ("retired list) of Auckland, lias been appointed assistant supply and transport officer Army Headquarters, Wellington, with the rank of captain. Air. W. R. Bazeley and Mr. A. M, Doull have been appointed president and vice-president respectively of the North Island Grain. Seed and Produce Ale rchants' Aesociation. Air. S. L. Armstrong was elected a member of the One Tree Hill Borough Council at a meeting of the council last night to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Air. J. J. Boyce. The Hon. Eliot R. Davis, the Hon. T. Bloodworth, the Hon. B. Alartin, the Hon. F. E. Lark. ALL.C.'s, and Air F. W. Schramm. Air. P. K. Paikea, Air. A. 0. Osborne. Mr. P. Carr, Air. W. T.
