T As Mr. James Cragg, former Major of Bankstown, was about to switch off the power at his works at Bass Hill for the last, time before his an explosion occurred and he was killed. Mr. Cragg, who was 74, was an alderman at Bankstown for 20 years, and was' Mayor on two occasions. Recently he decided to retire and sold his tallow and fertiliser business, which ns had managed for the last .30 years. _: As he walked toward the switchboard to cut off the power at the works for the Jast time, a digester burst, and., the explosion hurled him to the concrete floor. He died soon afterwards from cerebral hemorrhage. The explosion would not have occurred if the power had been switched off.
