STOCKS AND SHARES

THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE INSURANCE ISSUES FIRM Insurance issues provided the firmest section of the market, on the Auckland Stock Kxcliange yesterday. Support lor South British improved and other shares were strong. There was less inquiry for Government loans and in banks oilers were easier for New Zealands and 1 * nions.

Weaker tendencies predominated in other sections. Auckland (ias again fell and ground was lost in the hrewery section, several transfers of New Zealands taking place at weaker levels. Australian industrials, for the most part, were steady.
