PROTECTION SOCIETY

The funds of the Society for the Pratection of Women and Children were augmented yesterday as the result of a card afternoon organised by the ladies' committee and held in the George Court tearooms. Contract and auction bridge and Mah Jong were played by the guests, who numbered about 200. They were received by the chairman of the ladies' committee, Mrs. Preston Chambers, assisted by Mrs. Farquharson, Mrs. V. G. Oman and Miss B. Spencer. Prizes were won by Mrs. Pullar, Mrs. Green and Mrs, G. Campbell.
