ROOPE ROOSTER FINAL PONSONBY AND RICHMOND FAST GAME ANTICIPATED One of the largest crowds of the season should be attracted to Carlaw Park to-day to see the meeting of Ponsonby and Richmond in the final of the knock-out competition for the Roope Rooster, as the match promises to produce a sparkling display. Richmond, winner of the championship,• is a formidable proposition for any club side in Auckland, but the splendid form at present bein<* shown by Ponsonby leads many enthusiasts to think that the latter team will prove successful to-day. Whichever way the decision goes, spectators should be assured of a fast and brilliant display of handling. Matches In the Phelan Shield contestthe senior subsidiary competition—will be continued. North Shore will play Mount Albert in the curtain-raiser on No. 1 ground, while the main match on No. 2 ground will be between Manukau and Marist. Papakura and City will provide the curtain-raiser.
