TRAVELLING SCHOLARSHIPS SUSPENSION DURING WAR* A membership of 480, an increase or 10 for the year, was reported at ths annual meeting of the Incorporated Institute of Accountants of New Zealand held at-. Wellington. Many members were reported to have enlisted for war service and ifc was decided to remit the subscriptions of all who joined s the forces. Officers were elected as follows: —President, Mr. H, H. Hendefson (Dunedin); vice-president, Mr. T. Auton (Christchurch); secretary, Mr. R. C. Morpeth; treasurer, Mr. D.P W Menzies; auditor, Mr. .G. J. J\, Feil; group members of council, Messrs. J, L. Arcus (Wellington). D. H. Steen (Auckland)', H. l Bicknsll • (Christchurch), H. H. Henderson (Dunedin). C. Milner (Nelson). - The __ suspension of awards of the travelling scholarships of the institute for the period of the war was decided upon. The scholarships, which are normally granted annually, are tenable for two years and carry a grant o£ £l7O a year. It was agreed that the grains he placed to a scholarship fund, the proceeds to be expended on scholarships at the termination of the war. A special committee'was set up to report on proposals for granting Expeditionary Force scholarships to members of the institute serving overseas, which would be taken up after the war.
