SUPPLIES FOR THE TRGOptf ANOTHER APPEAL LAUNCHED • • ?.pV; [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION'] WELLINGTON, Friday Co-operative effort • between tH Country Library Service, the Libraries Association Jind the National Patriotic Board, with the hacking of the general public, lias resulted in splendid provision being made in the way of reading matter for troops under training ant when they go overseas. A generous response was made to an appeal somft time ago for books and periodicals, but since then these supplies have been drawn on heavily, and another appeal is being made for suitable literature. .. Mr. G. T. Alley who is in chargp of the Country Library Service, ■ says quite 25,000 books and an equal num. ber of periodicals have gone overseas on troopships. In addition, libraries at the three main training camps have been supplied, as well a§ Air Force training schools and coast-watching stations. The training-centre being established at Waiouru will require about 5000 books. >,
