£22,750 RAETIHI SCHEME [by TELEGRAPH —OWN cokhesfondent] "WANG-ANUI, Friday The Wanganui Hospital Board has accepted a tender for the erection of a maternity liospital and nurses' homo at Raetihi. Provision is made in the estimates for £22,750 to' meet the cost. It is six years since the need for an np-to-date maternity hospital at Raetihi was stressed by Mr. J. Morton (Ohakune), "VVaimarino representative on the board. In 1938 a Government Commission, set up to report on maternity hospital needs in the Dominion, recommended to the. Government that two hospitals be built, one at Ohakune and the other at Raetihi. After giving tho matter full consideration, tho board decided that Raetihi jvas the best sito for-the-hospital*
