NEGRO'S HONESTY
Three negro workmen appeared at the Jefferson Woodworking Company yards at Louisville, Kentucky the other day, and began spraying whitewash. The bosses, each thinking another had hired the men, finally compared notes. None had. So they asked the chief sprayer. His storv was that seven years aco Robert Merckc, company president, who died in Mnv, 1939, paid in advance for the job. The same night the "contractor'' became involved in a killing. He served seven years. Now he has been released. So he came with helpers to carrv out his contract.
