SNOOKER TOURNEY

The Auckland provincial open championship tourney was continued last evening at Messrs. Barton nnd McGill's Hall. In the first contest R. Nixon created a surprise by defeating J. White, -IT—3, 31 —.VI, SO—4o, and in the second J. I). Shulfz heat A. North, '2(>—10.%, i>3—lo, <>T —HO. In the second game North created a record for the tournament by scoring a break of Til and a total of .105 in a game. The matches for to-night are:—D. Watson v. C. Cummins, 7.30 p.m., and C. Ratcliffc v. Bcluca, 5.30 p.m.
