FASHION DISPLAY
DOMINION MANUFACTURES FROCKS AND ACCESSORIES That New Zealand can produce frocks, suits and hats that compare very favourably with imported models, is seen in a fashion parade which opened in Auckland yesterday &nd will continue until the end of the week. The parade, which is divided into three groups, comprising suits and coats, tailored day frocks in silk and crepe, and evening gowns, shows many new and novel highlights for the spring and summer .fashions.
A feature of the suits is the importance of pockets, the vogue for the shorter skirt, and a number of newcolour contrasts.. Lime green is successfully combined with amethyst, catalina grey with cerise, grape wine and yellow, while a new prairie rose shade is assured of popularity. The smartly-cut frocks in patterned materials show to what perfection the arts of designing, colour blending and dyeing have been brought. These printed frocks are shown under plain light-weight coats, most of which are cut on slightly flared lines.
