ATTACK ON TURAKINA
STATEMENT BY MINISTER FATE OF CREW UNKNOWN DEAD OR PRISONERS OF WAR [by telegraph.—OWN correspondent] "WESTPORT, Thursday Illustrating liow close New Zpaland was to the war zone in an address tonight ; regarding the formation of a home guard, the Minister of National Service, the Hon. R. Semple, mentioned the attack 011 the Turakina not more than 300 miles from the Dominion, and the loss of another big passenger ship. He said that it was not known whether the men on the Turakina were dead or prisoners of war.
