EMPIRE AIR PLAN

NEW ZEALAND'S SHARE Praise for New Zealand's contribution to the Empire air training scheme was expressed yesterday by Professor T. D. J. Leech, professor of engineering at Auckland University College, in a luncheon address to members of the Auckland Rotary Club. Professor Leech said he had been impressed by the fact that, whereas New Zealanders were apt to criticise the Dominion s participation, in Sydney he had found that Australians, criticising the Commonwealth's share, used -New Zealand as an example of fine work. ''To correct the impression I find to be possessed by many New Zealanders," said Professor Leech, "I would like to say that an analysis of information I have had given me shows tnat ISew Zealand is doing a very fine piece ot work so far as the Empire air scheme is concerned. New Zealand is making a far greater contribution in the way ot adhering to the original schedule than is Australia."
