NEW ZEALAND COMPANY SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE REPORT OF DIRECTORS [FROM OUlt OWN CORIIKSPONDKNT] HAMILTON, Monday "From the point of view of production, the season just closed has been a record one," states tlie report of the directors of tho New Zealand Co-opera-tive Dairy Company, Limited, to bo presented at the annual meeting on August 10. "The substantial increase in the tonnage of products manufactured by tho company was t!"c to a large extent to the continued loyal support of the suppliers, coupled with very favourable climatic conditions which obtained during the greater part of the season." The report states that a portion of the increase was due to the supply of the Raglan Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, which by arrangement was purchased at the beginning ol the season. Appeal to Suppliers "In urging suppliers to make every effort to increase production to the fullest extent possible during tlie coming season," the report continues, "the directors recognise that difficulties exist and others may arise, but they trust that by practical co-operation and mutual assistance these will largely be overcome, so that our suppliers may make their maximum contribution to tlie drive for increased production." Ihe manufacture of produce of the highest quality possible is essential to obtain the full benetit of guaranteed prices and the directors anticipate with confidence that co-operation between the suppliers and the company will continue to maintain and improve tho standard. Average Pay-out "The actual pay-out for butter-fat of all grades made for the previous season was 16.2602(1 per lb. for buttermaking, 18.4458(1 for cheese-making) and .9482 d per lb. for casein-making. The average pay-out per lb. of butterfat which it is estimated will be made for 1939-40 is 1(3.3977d for butter-mak-ing, 18.5929 d for cheese-making, and 1.4379 d for casein-making. "Milk powder suppliers have received, in addition to the butter advance, premiums for skim milk. The balances in the respective milk powder profit and loss accounts for tho senson will not bo dealt with finally until a quantity of powder equivalent to the make for tho season has been realised." Tlie report expresses regret at the loss suffered by the company and the dairy industry in the death of the late Mr." R. H. v McKenzie, chairman of directors of the company. '
