BILLIARDS TOURNEY
AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP The Auckland provincial amateur billiards the Billiards, Limited, Shield was continued last evening at Messrs. Billiards, Limited's showrooms, when J. Mollo.v defeated J. Robinson by SIJ points after a closely-contested game. Molloy was consistent and reached the first hundred mark with a lead of over (30 points. An all-round break of 49 increased his advantage. Robinson then settled down. Breaks of 30, 2.") and 32 enabled him to nmke a Rood recovery, and he led at the second century mark. He. continued to score freely nnd still held a slight .advantage at the next hundred mark. Molloy gained the lead once again and useful breaks of .'if). 22 nnd 2-1 gave him a commanding lead at a critical stage. Robinson mado a good final effort, hut Molloy won an interesting game with the scores:—.T. Molloy, 500 (breaks of 20, 21, •11),- 39, 21, 22 and 21); J. Robinson, 411 (breaks of 30. 25, 32. 20 nnd 25). J. J. Shepherd will play P. Hcalcy at 7.30 o'clock to-night.
