PROBATION GRANTED
YOUNG MAN'S THEFTS Four charges of theft involving £3 2s 6d were admitted by -a machinist, William Donovan, aged 21, "before Mr. J . Morling, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday. Senior-Sergeant McHugh said both accused's parents had been killed in a railway accident in v Christchurch - in 1936. He came to Auckland last month and had secured a position at £3 6s a week. In spite of' that he had . stolen the articles and money mentioned in tlie charges, which included a sovereign and a half-sovereign. These he had sold for £2 12s 6d.
Accused was admitted to probation for two years. V;
