FALL UNDER TRAM
PEDESTRIAN INJURED Falling under a tram-ear while crossing Queen Street near Shortland Street early yesterday afternoon, Mr., Frederick lleynolds, aged -63, of 138 Vincent Street, City, had an amazing escape from death. Mr. Reynolds paused between the tracks to allow two train-cars to pass, one on each track. While tbo inward-bound car was passing, ho slipped on the wet road and was dragged instantly beneath tho moving vehicle, completely smashing tho life-guard at the front. Fortunately, the tram was slowing at a safety. 7.0110 and was stopped almost immediately. It was jacked up off the tracks and the injured man was removed. Mr. Reynolds was removed to the Auckland Hospital. Ho was later found to be suffering from concussion; head injuries and an injured ankle. His condition last night was fairly serious.
