COUNTRY COMMANDOS
Sir,— Congratulations to your correspondent "Red Hackle." The commando system is the only one which will enable us to cope with a surprise attack on the coast. Invading armies do not attack or attempt to land at fortified places. Commandos oi males from 16 to 60 throughout New Zealand could be 100,000 strong and if such an organisation existed we would not need to worry about an enemy getting a foothold here. The very strongest support should be given to country commandos. 2/SFA.
