Government requirements are absorbing a large proportion of the -output, especially in crossbred qualities. Quotations for yarns are firm at recent rates.
RABBITSKIN VALUES [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] DUNEDIN. Tuesday At to-day's auction of rabbitskiris a total weight of 48 tons was brought forward, the smaller offering being due principally to the recent floods in tho south, which held up consignments. Considering tho gravity of the international situation exporters and furriers bid fairly frcolv and practically all the offering-was cleared under the hammer. Low grades up to early autumns were disposed of at lower prices. Values receded from Id to 6d. Late autumns up to winter grades were in request and on the average may ho quoted at par to 2d dearer than the last sale. Some nice parcels of winters were forward, top price being 92-Jd for first winter bucks.
