STOCKS AND SHARES
THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE SOME SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT The steady decline in share values which has characterised the past week was partially checked yesterday on the Auckland Stock Exchange. Although the improvement was very slight and dealing was restricted, there was some recovery in offers. Government loans were a shade firmer, while buyers raised their limits for some banking issues. Insurances, however, remained dull. Australian industrials improved, and Broken Hill Proprietary, British Tobacco and Electrolytic Zinc presented a slightly stronger front. Colonial Sugars, howover, cased. New Zealand industrials were quiet, with little alteration. CLOSING QUOTATIONS
