OBITUARY
MR. JOSEPH EMBLING The death has occurred of Mr. Joseph Embling, aged 83. Born in Taranaki, Mr. Embling commenced farming in the Auckland Province but later returned to Taranaki, where ho opened a footwear business at Eltliam. About 23 years ago he took up farming again at Mangero and then shifted to Auckland, where he retained an interest in a footwear business until a few years ago. Mr. Embling was associated with the Salvation Army for the past 48 years. He was married twice and is survived by his wife. Ho is also survived by one son and five daughters. MR. ERICK JORDAN The death has occurred of Mr. Erick Jordan, aged 85-, a well-known resident of Northcote. Mr. Jordan was born in Sweden in 1855 and came to Now Zealand 62 years ago, being engaged in the shipping trade between Australia and New Zealand. He was married at Dunedih in 1883 and after six months at Sydney settled at Napier. There he worked on the dredge for the Harbour Board as contractor. Ho removed 42 years ago to Northcote, where he established a business which he carried on until his retirement some years ago. His wife predeceased him last year and there is an adult family.
