BASTION POINT

Sir, —A very lovely expanse of sea and land, almost lovelier than one can imagine, can be viewed from .Bastion Point. Auckland. It is a lovely, glorious, magnificent, enchanting view on a fine, clear day. It would indeed bo a prize and a boon and a great acquisition for Auckland in particular, and the country generally, lor a big stretch of the land west and north and south of the actual Bastion Point to be made into a lovely public park. The Government owns the land there, and it. would be a very fitting tribute to the memory of the late beloved Prime .Minister to give the land to the Auckland City Council to be made into a memorial park as the council decided. The public, including myself, would 110 doubt be very pleased to contribute toward the cost of making a lovely park as a memorial to perpetuate his memorv. Bastion Point.
