CAREER OF AN ACTRESS
An nctress who might have been a dentist but "hates open months unless they are laughing at her," arrived in Sydney recently to take part in ;i new play production, She is Miss Eileen Murphy, an Englishwoman. Miss Murphy's deiital career became a "might have been" when she studied elocution, singing and dancing at the Guildhall School of Music, London, without her parents' knowledge. Miss Murphy started her stago career at the ago of 14 in a schoolgirl play and since then has appeared in everything except circus and grand opera. She 'has had the distinction of playing principal boy in two pantomimes during the samo season. On a Saturday night finished in "Aladdin" and the following Monday night opened in "Cinderella." She went to Belfast for the latter performance, learning the part I while she was crossing from England.
