G- Marchbanks, assistant to the chief 1 engineer of the Wellington Harbour Board, has been commissioned a second lieutenant in the New Zealand Engineers. He is the son of Mr. J. Marchbanks, for many years the board's chief engineer. . Mr. J. R. Elsburv, State Placement Officer, has been accepted for.overseas military service with the rank of captain and has embarked on a refresher course at Narrow Neck. In the Great War he served with a commission in the Australian Imperial Forces.
