Auckland is in an unassailable position in the senior competition of the New Zealand Centennial basketball tournament, which was continued in fine weather to-day. To-morrow's games will decide the holder of the Annie Brown Cup, which goes to the runner-up in the senior competition. Jn one section of the secondgrade contest, Poverty Bay has an unbeaten record, and in the other section in the same grade Southland Minor and Manawatu have not been beaten. The leader in the third grade is Marlborough, which also is unbeaten. Finality was reached this afternoon in the secondary schools' competition, which was won by Waitaki Girls' High School, which thus wins the' Centennial . trophy.
