LOAN INCREASES GRANTED Advice was received at a meeting of the Onehnnga Borough Council last night from the Local Government Loans Board authorising an increase in the amounts originally fixed for a waterworks extension loan from £14,000 to £17,600, and a loan for a .swimming bath from £BOOO to £9300. The increase is due to advanced prices sinco the estimates were framed last year. The State Advances Corporation outlined its future policy regarding the payment of rates on Jand acquired for bousing purposes. During the year in which land was acquired, full rates would be paifl. If held vacant lor tlio whole of *the following year, special rates would be paid. When houses were erected and occupied, full rates would be paid for the period of occupancy and special rates for the balance of the rating year.
