GIRL'S BODY RECOVERED

[BV TKIiKGRAPH —PKK.SS ASSOCIATION"] WELLINGTON, Friday The body of Doreen Gertrude Matthews, aged 13. who had been missing from the Feltham children's home, Otaki, since last Tuesday, was found on the Otaki beach about 9.20 a.m. yesterday. At an inquest later in the day in Otaki, the coroner, Mr. J. S. Moir, returned a verdict of accidental death by drowning. The child, with other children from the home, went bathing at the Otaki beach. She disappeared and the body was found about 500 yards south of where she entered the water. Her parents. Mr. and Mrs. F. Matthews, live in Wellington.
