LIQUOR REGULATIONS

Sir, —It is difficult to understand why emergency regulations should be gazetted that infringe on the personal liberty of our New Zealand soldiers when on leave. Why pick on them. If it is permissible lor mo to tulco lioino n bottle of beer, surely the man who has sacrificed everything should be entitled to the same privilege. Surelv if our boys are capable or fighting J'or us, thev are also capable of looking after themselves, without petty interference from civilians who can still take liquor home in bottles if they wish to. By all means, forbid the supplying of "riggers ' to the lad who has had his "quota." but to ask a mail to enlist to fight for liberty and then insist, that when on leave, he shall not take home a few bottles for the farewell crayfish supper, is just too stupid for words. Alfred B. Olvikr.
