IRRIGATION SCHEME
LARGE AREAS IN ITALY APPROVAL BY IL DUCE (Received February 6, 5.5 p.m.) ROME, Feb. 5 A £20,000,000 scheme has been approved by Signor Mussolini for irrigation works to serve 2,500,000 acres. The scheme will take seven years to complete. It will provide a canal from* the source of the River Po to the Adriatic and serve lands in Emilia and Romagna, Northern Italy. Southern Italy also will be widely irrigated. The development of aqueducts constructed in the Roman era is contemplated.
