WEST FRONT ATTACK TWO MEN ABANDONED CAPTURED BY FRENCH By Telograph—Press Association—Copyright (Received Februnry 6, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, Feb. 6 An attack against the French advanced lines east of the Blies River yesterday was repulsed with hand grenades and two Germans were captured. A Berlin communique admits that two seriously wounded members of a German patrol were abandoned after a clash with strong French forces in no-man's-land, but claims that another French patrol was repulsed east of Wissembourg. It is officially announced that the Franco-Swiss frontier in Upper Savoy has been closed to all traffic except on the railways, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

A cablegram from Geneva states that all the Royal Air Force crews made prisoner in Germany are being interned in officers' camps regardless of their rank.

UNITY OF VIEWS SUPREME WAR COUNCIL MEETING HELD IN FRANCE CLOSE CO-OPERATION (Received February 6, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, Feb. 5 A meeting of the Supreme War Council to-day was attended by M.M. Daladier, Campinchi and Lachambre (France), Mr. Chamberlain, Viscount Halifax, Mr. Winston Churchill, Mr. Oliver Stanley, and Sir Kingsley Wood (Britain), and naval, military and air officers.

The council examined every aspect of the various factors of the present situation as it affects the general conduct of the war -in the spirit of close cooperation, which inspires the actions of the two Governments, with the object of achieving still greater afficacy in Franco-British collaboration. Special attention was paid by the council to questions of supply. It reached complete agreement on all points.
