PAGEANT SPECTATORS r _ BREAKING OF HIGH BRANCH TWO MEN FRACTURE RIBS [BY TELEGRAPH —SPECIAL REPORTER] WAITANGI, Tuesday As the first words of the treaty pageant at Waitangi were spoken this morning, a sharp crack as heard just behind the spectators. A high branch of a large totara tree, from which 30 people were watching the pageant, broke and two men sitting on it fell 20ft. to the ground. Mr. Walter Tepania, of Kaitaia. suffered fractured ribs and head injuries, and Mr. John Subritzky, of Kaikohe, suffered fractured ribs. Both were rendered unconscious. Dr. C. B. Gilberd. medical officer of health for North Auckland, was called, and the men were taken to the camp hospital in a St. John ambulance. Mr. Subritzky was able to proceed to his home after treatment, but Mr. Tepania was still in hospital this evening. His condition is not serious. .. / r
