After running the first two in 26 3-ss, Aero Queen (Tremnin) completed five' furlongs in 1.5 2-5. Her stablemate Aoro King (Tremain) sprinted smartly over half a mile in 49 3-ss. A pleasing effort went to the credit of Brazilian (Green), who traversed-a round in 1.44 1-5, being'assisted over the'last six furlongs by Valinint (R. Fearri) in I.IG 4-5. The last- half-milo was run in 51,3-5, and Brazilian • was staying on in fine style to finish with his companion. After running the first three in, 3": Armacourt (Cameron) got to the end of six furlongs in 1.10 1-s'. Ptarotonga (Messervy) was not extended over half a mile in 53 l-ss. The Pliilamor gelding, who was formerly trained in the Wairarapa and has somo good form to his credit this season, is now under the care cf G. Jenkins at Ellcrslic. "White Mark (Stanway) strode over half a mile in 51s. Clansman (Cammick) impressed more than; Bide-a-Wee (Kerr)' over ; half a mile in 51s. Clansman, a five-year-old "gelding by. Vitals from. Judy Kelly, has not been np long , after , a lengthy spell, from which lie appe'ars to. have derived some benefit Whenua (Ryan) finished slightly in ad-vance--ofci'RaJanya find - Aknnorii (•Manson)-ftt. the conclusion of« half a milo in 49 -3-Rsr after running- the-first -fnrlong in 12 2-ss ; It was a creditable effort for horses of, their class, and "VVhenua should soon be a winner'in the novice <:lass. An iinnamed gelding by Autopay from Morohn (Dowrick) was not ridden oiit to complete three furlongs in 41 *l-ss. Mon Acre • (Messervy) and 'Pasture (Murray) went fast over five f.urlongs in 1.3 3-5, with little between thorn at tho finish. Frarn) cleared out from Clinch (Cameron) over threo' furlongs and finished several lengths in front, to record the smart time of 3(5 2-ss. Llandaff has trained on well since making his first appearance in (he Royql .Stakes, and his next outing is awaited with interest. After running the first furlong in 12 3-ss, Royal Message (Cameron) and Golden Bonnet' (Kerr) were travelling well within themselves at the conclusion .of half a mile in 51s. Both have, been slightly ofT colour, but arc back-to their best again, judging by the dash they put into their work. Loval Grant (Gemmell) cleared four hurdles :in dashing ' style. She afterwards sprinted five furlongs on the grass in 1.0. Bright Idea (Kerr) was schooled over several pony hurdles, and displayed plenty of confidence'for a beginner-. , Beverley (Neil) went over four hurdles, jumping very slowly and carefully. ADDINGTON STAKES PRINCIPAL EVENTS ALTERED TIGHT, CLASS LIMITS VARIED [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] CHKISTCHtfiRCH, Tuesday The total stakes for the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's Easter Meeting oil March 23, 27 and -28 wjU be the same as last year. 'However, in view of the small fields for fast class -races, at the Forbury Park and Wellington meetings, variations have been' made in the principal events.Tho Easter Handicap has been reduced from £IOOO to £OSO and the distance from two miles, limit 4.25, to a mile and a-half, limit 3.10. Tho President's Handicap has also been reduced from £IOOO to £650, and the limit will be 4.28 for two miles instead of 4.25. The Hon. W. Hayward, chairman of the programme committee, stated that the main reason for the changes was tho paucity of horses In' the top classes, and the manner in which these races were being run. Tho clubs which had in recent months put on 4.26 races had been let down badly. The Metropolitan club, therefore, had decided to go right away from the fast classes, and had gone out to 4.28 and 3.10. where sufficient horses were available. The highest stake at tho meeting would bo £650, but there wero several of these, and they were not confined to the horses in the tightest classes. The chairman said that, for the champion pacers there would be the. Autumn Free-For-All, of £650, one and a-quarter miles, with a clause reserving to the club the right to select the horses which uliould go to the post. In addition to the Easter Handicap on the first day, there is the Belfast Handicap, of £6uo, limit 4.151, and the Express Handicap 'of ' COOO; limit 4.34: There arc two £SOO events for pacers on the second day,, the classes being 3.22 and 4.31, and on the third day there is a £650 event for 4.3 J pacers and a £6OO event for 4.34 pacers. Unhoppled trotters haVe also benefited by the general levelling out of stakes and the main trot each day carries a stake of £SOO. The class on the first and third days js 4.Q8, and on the second day 3.27, so that tho real top class trotters will cither have to give away long starts or race among the pacers. No event on the programme is worth less than £3OO. Sprinters of 2.40, 2.48 and 2.45 class arc well catered for, and thero is also ample provision for 3.25 pacers.
