1 AUCKLAND COLLECTIONS PREDICTION FOR FUTURE Lower returns for harbour dues collected at sho port of Auckland coinpared with a year before were recorded by the treasurer, Mr. C. F. Garratt, in reports for December and January, ,which were presented to a mcbting of the Auckland Harbour Board yesterday. In his report for December Mr. Garratt said the collection of £31,688, .which was £2869 lower than for' December, 1938, suggested that a period dunnc which funds would not be receivable in the volume to which the boaj"d was accustomed had now definitely commenced. This prediction was Biipported by Garrett s January report, which''showed that collections, at £48,073, were £698 lower "than for January, 1989. The total collections for the four months, October to Januarv showed a decrease of £3708, Mr. Garratt said.
