FEDERATION PLAN IDEA GAINS PROMINENCE BUILDING UP SENTIMENT ORGANISED EFFORT BEGUN (Received January 3, 6 p.in.) LONDON, Jan. 3 The idea of a European federation is receiving increasing prominenco since M. Daladier's speech on December 29, says the Paris correspondent of tho Associated Press of Great Britain. An organised ellort to build up sentiment for such a federation is reported to havo begun. The French hope that it might eventually become world wide. An authorised spokesman says the idea of a federation opposes Germany's ambition to absorb other countries. The system would bo modelled on the existing Anglo-French collaboration. Newspapers and radio commentators echoed these statements. The news announcer of tho British Broadcasting Corporation ended his reference to Mr. Chamberlain's action in telephoning M. Daladier, with the statement: "Mr. Chamberlain asked 31. Daladier to act as spokesman because the British Parliament is not sitting.''
