SOUTH FINLAND RUTHLESS BOMBING TOWNS DAMAGED / SEVERAL SHIPS HIT •/ " (Received January 3, 7.15 p.m.) HELSINKI, Jan. 3 Turku Castle was set on fire by a (Russian bomber on Monday and two occupants were killed and four wounded. The castle dates from the 13th century and houses Finland's finest museum, which, however, was saved. Russian aeroplanes bombed Turku Harbour again yesterday, five People being killed and 20 wounded. Bombs set fire to many houses, hit the Finnish steamer Leo and damped a- Swedish steamer and two tugs. Thirty-two aeroplanes took part in \ * jaid on Wasa, whore bombs killed or *oundfid <*3o people and destroyed many houses... A blizzard not only prevented raids to-day but forced a number of Soviet "eroplanes to land on Finnish territory. The Russians bombed Oulu (TJleacborg), one person being killed and one Wounded, and the damage was exten- ' • Bivo, * A serious accident is reported on the Murmansk railway, ''where a Russian troop train crashed down an embankment!, causing hundreds of deaths, but is not certain whether the smash 'J-;.. as ( J"° to' Finnish .mines or the condilon of the railway line.
