ELDERLY MAORI'S DEATH [by telegraph—own correspondent! GISBORNE. Wednesday As a result of injuries received when his horse rolled on him, n Maori, Mr. Hekiera llewarowa, aged 80, died in the Waiapu Hospital at To.Pma. Mr. Kewarowa was living at Whareponga, East Coast, and the accident happened when he was assisting to muster sheep on hilly country. While ho was riding up a steep face his horse slipped and fell backward, rolling on him. Mr) Ilewarewa was taken to hospital as quickly as possible, but died tho following day.
