FIRST AID IN SCHOOLS

CERTIFICATES PRESENTED The presentation of certificates •to pupils of standards V. and VI. of the Newmarket public school who weie successful in the recent first aid examination was made ,by Mr. F. J. Hutchinson, assistant-commissioner of the St. John Ambulances Brigade. Mr. Hutchinson was accompanied by district officers F. E. Schofield and C. Lindesay. In presenting the certificates ho mentioned that the motto of the school, "Service Before Self," was very similar to the motto of the Order of St. John, "For the Service of Mankind." It was pleasing to see so many girls among the successful candidates, he concluded.
