THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE QUIETER TONE AT CLOSE • The investment market closed on a quieter tone on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. Turnover was much smaller and -was confined mainly to Australian issues. Government loans, banks and insurances continued the firmer trend, with some scarcity of sellers. The classified groups showed no regular movement. Inquiry for overseas industrials tended to ease, and the reaction recently was noticeable in some transfers. New Zealand scrip was steady.
