FUNDS FOR RED CROSS TAKAPUNA EFFORT Bowls of Iceland poppies and yellow irises were attractively arranged in the Auckland Gas Company's room at Takapuna yesterday afternoon, when a successful bridge and mail jongg party in aid of funds of the Takapuna subcentre of the lied Cross Society was held. Members of the social committee in charge of the arrangements comprised: Mrs. B. Ivissin (convener), Mrs. A. R. Stephenson, Mrs. W> J- Thompson, Mrs. J. Ivissin and Miss Gladys Williams. The chairwoman, Mrs. K. J. Dellow, addressed the gathering and later presented prizes to the following:—Contract bridge, Mrs. 31, Thompson; auction, Mrs. P. Elliot; mah jongg, Mrs. M. Morrison, Anions? the hostesses who made up tables were:—Mrs. J. C. Williamson. Mrs. J. H. Matthews, Mrs. J. Howie, Mrs. Harrison Gregory. Mrs. S., Wynyard, Mrs. G.
