INFECTIOUS DISEASES

A total of 53 cases of infectious diseases was notified to the district health office in September from the Central Auckland ,aiul Thames-Taurnnga health districts. Pulmonary tuberculosis provided the largest single number of cases, the total being 19. This was closely followed by erysipelas, of which there were 16 cases. There were five cases of scarlet fever, two of diphtheria and, one each of poliomyelitis and hydatids.
