Miss Appellant (Messervy) covered five furlongs in 1.8, and appeared to linvo plenty in reserve. Trilliarch (Nqil) was not extended to run fivo furlongs in I.S 3-5. British Talent (I remain) sprinted half a mile comfortably in 53 2-ss. He is thriving and may not ho long in reaching the winning list. Creditable Effort by Pern After beginning slowly, Pern (Farrcll) completed a round in 2.10 2-5. tho last six furlongs in 1.2S 2-5, mid half-mile in 5G l-.»s. Although he was tiring at tho finish, it was a creditable effort.
Royal Appellant (Oeniniell) was travelling very easily while covering a round in 'J.IS 4-5, the last six fudoners in I.L'7 4-5. AVitb the assistance of Feldberg (Mnrkwick), the Takanjni-trained two-year-old Queen Cit.v ! Wiggins) sprinted three furlongs in 30 3-ss. She moved Very impressively, and appeared as if she could have run fast timo.
"When given a reminder, Tea Gong (Messervy) finished in great style to shade Spinning Wheel (,T. Basby) at the end of seven furlongs in 1.38 1-5, the last half-mile in 55 l-ss. Tea Gong is not a good trackworker, and it was his best effort for som«i time, drawing attention to his prospects at Tnurang-a. After running (ho first furlong In 1.12 •1-5, Silver Stick (Rae) and the two-year-old Worton (Farrell) wore practically on terms at the end of half a mile In 51 2-ss. Silver Stick was going very comfortably throughout, and he has trained on well since disappointing at Avondalo. Right ITo.val (Green) was going easily alongside Ivv Willon.vx (Bruce) at Ihe conclusion of five furlongs in 1.5 4-5. time which was not bettered during the morningTf was an attractive effort on the part of Right Royal, who has freshened up well since racing at Avondale. Royal Abh (Markwick) finished in front of Abb (Coon) over five furlongs in 1.0 2-5. The ttvo-yoar-old Night Pilot (Wiggins) was loafing throughout half a mile run in 57 2-ss. Marheke Finishes Well After running the first two in 28 l-ss. Marheke (Messervy) was finishing well at tho end of five fnrlontcs in 1,11. She looks moro solid than formerly, and her Avondale form sugcresfrd that she is on the improve. Beeswing (Kerr) ran an easy five furlongs in 1.13 3-5. She looks in splendid order to make her renppearanco at Ellerslie next werk. Tea Chat (Mcsservy) led Caurnie (Ryan) throughout a round in 2.12 4-5, the last six furlongs occupying 1.27 3-5 and half-mile 57 4-ss. Tea Chat stayed on better than usual. Snrella (Kerr) displayed speed whilo sprinting three furlongs in 37 1-fis. After conceding Sebrof (Wiggins) two lengths *tnrt, Mon Acre (Messervy) was doing tho better at the conclusion of five furlongs in 1.0 2-5. • Odtaa (Messervy) was running on strongly at the end or five furlongs in 1.5 4-s,_after aoing fast over the first two in 20 l-5s. 1 It equalled the best of the morning. Odtaa has never been better. Oil the NO. 3 graf-s track, Fidelis (Dowrick) covered a round in 1.45. the last six furlongs in 1.23 3-5. and half-milo in 55 3-ftSi The Dude (Dulieu) was not bustled over three furlongs in 13 l-ss. Gay Broney 'Tremain( easily accounted for Stonehencro CHearn) over, half a mile in 51 2-ss, Ca.v Bfonev worked freely. After schooling. Xioyal Grant (Gemmein did well to run three furlongs in 37 -4-ss. Prince Tractor Jumps Boldly Prince Tractor (Baker) was responsible for a fast and clean display over four hurdles. He is engatred in' the Bay of Plenty Steeplechase and the Otara Hack Hurdles to-morrow, hut present intentions are that be will contest the latter event. Except for gettina in too close to the first two. The Trimmer (U 11liams) cleared six hurdles in good style. Land Girl (Williams) went over four pony hurdles, and afterwards one of the bigger obstacles in promising style. Loyal Grant (Ctemmcll) schooled over several pony fences and shaped well for a beginner. The stablemates Tupeotu tSinton) and Adsum (Butterworth) were associated over a round of 14 of the steeplechase fences. Both gave a faultless exhibition up until Iho second to last, which Adsum hooked badly and fractured his off hind-leg. He was promptly destroyed. Tupeotu completed his task in pleasing fashion by clearing the sod wall in dashing style. A number of two-year-olds and novices were given barrier practice from the sevenfurlong post on the course proper. Mr V. Hill acted as starter and despatched them in three divisions In the first lot, Biddy Girl got into her stride smartly and wns several lengths clear of the others after running two furlongs smartly in 20s. The second division did not shape too well, the onlyone to show any aptitude being the mare bv Hovlake from Acushla. who went out w : ell but she then started to buck and dislodged her rider. Thursday A smart five furlongs by Young Paddon and Sir Lvsander. and a three-furlong sprint along the'back by the two-year-olds Surpai and Forest Bridge, were features of this morning's work at Te Rapa, when the No. 1 grass provided fast going. Fast work was rather restricted, being confined chiefly to horses claiming engagements at the combined meeting at Tauranga over the wcekCn< Cappy (McLaughlin) and Mio Generalo (Watson) were associated over a round, the former finishing the better in 1..>!) ■!-.>. Young Pactdon. who finished a length in front, worked very well, and looks in improved order for his Farewell Handicap engagement at Tauranga on Saturday. _ .
