DOMAIN BOWLING CLUB THE OFFICIAL OPENING Thorp was n record attendance of members and friends when the Tauranga Domain Howling Club held its opening ceremony. The weather was bright and sunny, and the domain, with the new green foliage of the trees, was looking its best. Neighbouring clubs were well represented. The president of the club, Mr. I'\ W. Doidge. M.l\. who had made a special trip from Wellington to be present, welcomed the visiting teams, alter which he declared the greens open. Mrs. Doidge rolled up the first: jack and bowl.

The afternoon tea arraimements were in the hands of .Mrs. Doidge. Mrs. S. A. Woods, Mrs. Peppercorn, Mrs. Ttoseveare and helpers. There were about 00 ladies present. Mrs. I'\ W. Doidge. of Second Avenue. Tauranga. has returned home after several months' visit to Wellington and Auckland. Mrs. 11. .1. Mradmore, of Tauranga. who has been spending a few weeks' holiday in llawke's Bay and Taranaki. has returned home.

Mrs. R. F. Ward, of the Mount. Tauranga. is spending a holiday in Auckland. Mrs. Wvn TCirkby, of Monmouth Street, Tauranga, has returned home after a few days spent in Auckland.
